The Lord In A Gentle Whisper

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.  Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind.  After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.  After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.  And after the fire came a gentle whisper.  When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

Isn’t it Wonderful to know that even though our God is POWERFUL and MIGHTY that he does not come to us in a forceful kind of way?!!  The Lord God approaches us in Gentleness!  What a gentleman he is!!!  Even when God sent his son Jesus (Yeshua) to be Salvation for the whole world, he was not prestigious, highly respected, or authoritative!  Jesus (Yeshua) did not come in a forceful manner roaring like a lion, but instead he came in complete meekness, humbleness, and gentleness like a lamb!  In the same way, when Elijah encountered the Lord God on Mount Horeb, the Lord did not approach him in a Powerful wind, a Shaking earthquake, or a Blazing fire… instead, the Lord God approached Elijah in a gentle whisper!  And as soon as Elijah heard that gentle whisper, he Immediately knew that the Lord was in it!  Elijah pulled his cloak over his face and went to stand at the mouth of the cave so he could not see the GLORY of the Lord as God passed by him!  You see… the gentleness of the Lord God is what draws us to him and his heart!  We do not have a domineering God who is forceful and stays angry at us, but rather, we have a gentle God who cares about us Deeply and loves us Dearly!  So draw near to the Lord your God today and let him gently whisper to You!
