Trust In The Lord

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.”

-Proverbs 3:5-6

How many times do we lean on our own understanding to get us through life instead of leaning on Jesus?  We have this really important decision to make and we are torn about what we should do…  Should we go this way or should we go that way?  Instead of simply asking the Lord about it and waiting on his confirmation of what to do, we think we can just wait till the last minute and in that one minute be given the flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants intelligence to make the right decision!  Well, the Lord doesn’t want you there!  He doesn’t want you scrambling for an answer!  He wants you to make the right decision every time not according to your own understanding, but according to his!  The Lord is able to see above and beyond our present circumstances on into the future!  He knows our past, our present, and our future and he knows precisely what is coming up ahead of us!  That is why it is imperative that we consult him about all matters before we make any decisions so that he can help us make the right decision every single time.  The Lord desires for you to acknowledge him as the supreme authority over your life, consulting him in All your ways – not some of them – so that he can direct all your paths, not you!  Are you leaning on your own understanding today??  Just trust in the Lord with All your heart, lean on him, and he will direct all your paths!
