One Lost Sheep

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them.  Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?  And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.  Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’  I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

Are you the one lost sheep wondering everywhere just trying to find a home?  Have you left the 99 thinking there is nothing and nobody there for you?!!  Well Jesus is!  And he is coming for your rescue!  Jesus has left the 99 in the open country just to search for you and he is in relentless pursuit of your heart!  He will not give up!  He will not give in!  He will not stop!  Jesus is going to find you and bring you home!  That is how much he loves you!  He will drop everything to find you!  That is how important you are to him!  And once Jesus finds you, he is joyfully going to wipe you off, lift you up out of the dirt, and carry you home on top of his shoulders!  Then, if that were not enough, he is going to call all of his friends and neighbors in heaven altogether to Rejoice over YOU!  That is how special you are to him!  In the same way, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents of their sin, than 99 righteous people who have no need to repent!  Let us all rejoice together, because you once were lost and now you have been found by Jesus Christ our loving Savior!  Welcome home!
