Your Husband, The Lord Almighty

“For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.  The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit – a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God.  “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.  In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.

You’ve had it!  They’ve mocked you for the millionth time for not having a boyfriend, for not being engaged, for not being married, for not having a husband, for not having a family!  Your biological time has already run out on their clock and all you see are blank stares on their faces as they gape at you wide open as if something is wrong with you!  You’re tired of proving yourself to them over and over again, just to please them, just to fit into their little box they’ve created for you, all to disappoint yourself!  You painfully remember all your past relationships that left your heart rejected, marred, and shattered and you start to wonder if what they are thinking about you is true.  Is there something wrong with you??  Are you the problem messing up every relationship?  Well let me tell you today, that you are not the problem, because you have the Solution!!  If you have accepted the Lord into your heart and are filled with the Holy Spirit, then Isaiah 54:5-8 clearly states that the Lord Almighty, your Maker, IS your husband!  Yes, you already have a husband!!  Yes, you are already married to the God of all the earth!  Your past relationships may have left you feeling rejected, but the Lord will call you back to him as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit who married him young.  You married the Lord when you came to believe in him, but you never knew it!  In a surge of his anger, the Lord abandoned you and hid his face from you as you spent yourself trying to find earthly relationships that left you broken and empty.  Now that you see that the Lord is your husband, he will restore you!  With everlasting kindness and deep loving compassion, he will bring you back to him!
