Born Of Water & Spirit

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.  You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it pleases.  You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Did you know that your body is mostly made up of water?  Yes!  As a newborn baby, you were nearly 80 percent water!  So that definitely means that our physical fleshly bodies are born of water!  Yet there is another way in which we are to be born in order for us to enter the kingdom of God and that is of the Spirit (the Holy Spirit).  Jesus stated that flesh gives birth to flesh and Spirit (the Holy Spirit) gives birth to spirit.  The flesh cannot birth what is spiritual, only the Holy Spirit can!  And 1 Corinthians 15:50 states that flesh and blood alone cannot inherit the kingdom of God!  So we must have the Holy Spirit in order to enter the kingdom of God!  Going further, Jesus said, ‘You must be born again…’  Well there is no possible way that anyone who has already been physically born into this world can be born again in the flesh.  That would make absolutely no sense!  That means the only way that anyone can be born again is through the Holy Spirit!  Jesus even went on to describe what the Holy Spirit is like… that you can hear it’s sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going!  That is how it is like for everyone born of the Spirit.  If Jesus could go into that much detail about the Holy Spirit then it must be important and It IS!  It is God living on the inside of us!  And if we do not have God living on the inside of us, then we are not his!  The Holy Spirit is our only way to heaven!  So we not only need to be filled up with water, but we also need to be filled up with the Holy Spirit!  We need to be born of water and the Spirit!
