Don’t Put Out The Spirit’s Fire

Do not put out the Spirit’s fire…

– 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Can you believe that the Word of God actually refers to the Holy Spirit as fire!  And on top of that the Word of God says to NOT put out the Holy Spirit’s fire!  That means that it is possible for people who have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of them to put out the flame of the Holy Spirit within them!  That is why it is Imperative for us to get in tune with the Lord through Holy Spirit – filled prayer (tongues) and to pray in the Spirit on ALL occassions so that we are conistantly growing in the Holy Spirit and feeding the flame of the Holy Spirit within us!  In addition, it is Important for us to be staying in the Word of God and allowing the Word of God, which is the Truth, to absorb into us!  Daily reading the Word of God helps us to asborb the Truth so that we can learn to easily distinguish the Truth from a world full of lies!  That also means that we need to be cutting out all the things in our lives that are putting out the flame of the Holy Spirit!  Anything that is contrary to Jesus (Yeshua) is not from the Lord and it needs to be cut out of our lives!  We cannot risk putting out the flame of the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit and it is our ever-constant protection!  The Holy Spirit is a counselor that leads and guides us into ALL truth, speaking only what God is saying!  We MUST know who we are listening to… are we listening to God (the Holy Spirit) or are we listening to the world?  That is something we need to constantly be asking ourselves and making sure that we can distinguish between the two!  So today, I encourage you to continue to fan the flame of the Holy Spirit within in you by staying in God’s Word – making it the apple of your eye, by praying constantly in the Holy Spirit (tongues) – listening to what the Lord says, and by cutting out all the things in your life that do not need to be there!  It might be challenging, but it will be well worth it, because everyone needs the Holy Spirit in them like a Raging Fire!!
