Not Returned Empty

April 11, 2018

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

-Isaiah 55:10-11

Isn’t it Awesome how the Word of God is likened unto a seed?  Yes, a very tiny seed that you plant in the ground!  God’s Word gets planted in your heart as a seed, which then begins to germinate and grow until it sprouts and matures into a tree bearing good fruit for eternal life!  Yet the seed remains!  It never dies!  It lives on!  The seed continues to perpetuate its memory throughout all generations, providing seed for those who sow and bread for those who reap and eat!  Look at how much power there is in something so small!  That is just like the Word of God!  It may seem like something so small right now, but in the end it is going to be something HUGE!!!  The Word which goes out from the Lord’s mouth will not disappoint, it will not return to him empty!  For it will achieve the purpose for which it is sent – creating everlasting life in us and through us!  And it will accomplish what the Lord desires for us – to become just like him!  We will not be returned to him empty, but just as he is!
