Your Heavenly Treasure

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where you treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Where is your heart today??  Is your heart set on that new car, that new house, that new job?  If so, then the Word of God says that those things are your treasures!  Yet as soon as you pull your brand new car off the lot, you are quickly reminded that the re-sale value just dropped exponentially!  Right when you move into your brand new house, you discover there is something else you will have to spend out to re-model!  And the first day you walk into your brand new job, you realize your co-workers are not as friendly as you thought they looked during your interview!  At some point in our lives we are all hit with the sharp reality that not everything on earth is perfect.  In fact, everything on this earth is subject to destruction; where moth and rust easily damage and where thieves try to break in and steal.  But we do not have to live in constant fear of the enemy when we have our treasures stored in heaven, where no one can break in and steal!  What earthly treasure can be stored in heaven??  Absolutely None!  The only treasure that can be stored in heaven is the treasure which is already there!  His name is Jesus!  He is your heavenly treasure!  And where your treasure is, there your heart will be also!  Where is your heart today??  Is it with Jesus?
