“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.  Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.  Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy  on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.  ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord.  As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Can we even begin to grasp the ways and the thoughts of the Lord?  Absolutely not!!!  The Lord’s ways are monuments higher than our ways!  And his thoughts are oceans wider than our thoughts!  We cannot put the Lord God Almighty in a box!  It is impossible because he governs everything!  But how many times do we try to force-fit God into our tiny little box?!  Jesus is only allowed access into your life on Sunday morning at “church” and after that he is on lock-down the whole rest of the week!  The Lord is crying out at us to forsake these manipulative ways and thoughts!  Can’t you hear him?!!  He has mercy on you and wants to pardon you and set you free from all your sin, but you must first set him free to do the work in your heart and life by breaking the box that you have him in!  And as you come to understand and fully submit to the level of the Lord’s holiness, his righteousness, his Sovereignty, and his full authority over your life, you will quickly realize that all your ways and your thoughts cannot possibly reach his, instead they fall vastly short of his perfection.  So seek the Lord while he may be found… Call on him now, while he is near!  He will hear you as you give up your ways and thoughts and submit to his, which are far better – they are heavens higher!
