When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.  Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.  They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Can you fathom the POWER of the Holy Spirit?  We can get a tiny glimpse of the power of the Holy Spirit when we read the extraordinary passage of scripture in the Word of God about the day of Pentecost.  We read that the 120 people gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem heard a violent wind that came from heaven, they saw tongues of fire separate and rest on each of them, and each person was filled with the Holy Spirit – speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave them power to do so!  What is even more Powerful is that the God-fearing Jews who had gathered in Jerusalem from every nation and tongue heard them declaring the wonders of God in their own language!  Some of the people made fun of them, yet Peter stood up and defended the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit and there is Much POWER in God’s Spirit, because He is Spirit!  If God is Spirit, then God was giving the people the ability to speak in other tongues or languages!  Now that is Incredible!  And since God is the same yesterday, today, and forever – just like scripture says – that means that He has never changed!  God is still Spirit and he continues to fill his people up with the Holy Spirit just like he did with his disciples and the whole 120 gathered in the upper room on the day of Pentecost!  Have You tapped into this Holy Spirit POWER?!!!
