Then his people recalled the days of old, the days of Moses and his people – where is he who brought them through the sea, with the shepherd of his flock?  Where is he who set his Holy Spirit among them, who sent his glorious arm of power to be at Moses’ right hand, who divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown, who led them through the depths?  Like a horse in open country, they did not stumble; like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord.  This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.

In Old Testament times, who was it who turned the the waters of Egypt blood red, who made Moses’ staff turn into a snake, who made Aaron’s staff bud, who sent down 10 plagues covering all of Egypt, who split the Red Sea for all the Israelites to cross over on dry ground, and who closed the door of the deep on top of Pharaoh’s armies – snuffing out Israel’s enemies?  Was it Moses or was it God??  Moses was just a human being!  Moses had no authority and no POWER!!  Still there are many Jewish people today who give more credit and honor to Moses for their deliverance from Egypt than to God!  Yet we specifically read in Isaiah that God sent his Holy Spirit among his people!  God sent down his arm of POWER to be at Moses’ right hand!  It was not Moses himself!  God’s Spirit was with him!  Even in the book of Isaiah we read how God’s people (the Jewish people) recalled the days of old when God set his Holy Spirit among them!  If God’s people could remember him and his Holy Spirit then, why can’t they remember his Holy Spirit now?!!  If God sent his Holy Spirit among them then, why can’t he do it now?!!  God has not changed!  God is the same yesterday, today, and Forever!  God does not change like shifting shadows!  So, who divided the waters before the Israelites to gain for himself everlasting renown?  Who led them through the depths??  Was it not God himself?!!  Like a horse in open country… they did not stumble; like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord God!  God’s Spirit gave them rest!!  The Holy Spirit is how he guided his people to make for himself a glorious name!  When we forget God’s Spirit, we are forgetting God, because God IS Spirit!  God’s Spirit is POWERFUL and his Holy Spirit IS among his children now and Forever!
