Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
– 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Today, do you feel weighed down from all your troubles and struggles?? It seems like you are constantly going through something else you have to deal with and it feels like the weight of the whole world is on your shoulders. It feels as if you are in a dry and weary land where there is no food or water. You just need to be refreshed! The Word of God encourages us not to lose heart among all the temporary troubles and struggles in this life. If we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, then we need to be tapping into that endless supply of water to refresh us day after day. If we get into the Word of God constantly and absorb it into our hearts, we are eating an endless supply of bread that can sustain us every single day. Additionally, we must fix our eyes not on all the distractions and problems of this world, but on Jesus. And when we press through to see past all our temporary problems in this life, fixing our eyes on what is eternal, we will finally come to understand that all these troubles and struggles are achieving for us an unseen eternal glory in heaven with Jesus that is going to be well worth it all!
